Acts confirmed for Glastonbury Festival 2022 lineup – and those rumored to be performing

With Glastonbury 2021 no longer on the cards, and while it’s sad that for the second year in a row we won’t be able to go to Worthy Farm, it does mean we can look forward to next year’s show even more.

Next year will surely be a big event. It will be three years of pent-up anticipation and a chance to hopefully celebrate the end of Covid and the return of glorious, muddy normality – assuming it continues, of course.

It will also, presumably, serve as a surrogate 50th anniversary celebration – which was due to take place last year but could not take place due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The event is scheduled for June 22-26, 2022, but the question on everyone’s lips is: who will perform?

Glastonbury Festival 2022 lineup and rumors

  • Aerosmith – self-confirmed: The legendary American rockers were due to appear at the 2020 event before it was cancelled, and they seem to have let it slip that they will play the 2022 show instead, with their website listing ‘Glastonbury Festival’ on their schedule tour for June 25, 2022 – the Saturday of next year’s show.
  • Crowded House – self-confirmed: According to Glastofeed, Neil Finn confirmed Crowded House’s Glasto 2021 slot has been moved to 2022 during a Channel 4 Sunday Brunch interview.
  • Paul McCartney – rumour: The iconic Beatles founder was set to play the 2020 show, and bookies believe he’ll be rocking us back in 2022 instead. Ladbrokes’ Jessica O’Reilly told The Sun: “It looks like Taylor Swift and Paul McCartney could be invited to fill in their 2020 headliners.
  • Taylor Swift – rumored: If Ladbrokes are to be believed, Taylor Swift will also fill out her 2020 headliner in 2022.
  • Fatboy Slim – Rumored: Norman Cook, better known as Fatboy Slim, is “big rumoured” according to efestivals. This seems to be due to the fact that he was due to play at Glastonbury in 2020 and then 2021.
  • Pet Shop Boys – rumour: Another rumored efestivals and another act set to perform in 2020 – signs point to it being a looker. The group should be on a European tour in June 2022, but the dates of June 23 to 26 are obviously empty…
  • Coldplay – rumour: Ladbrokes’ O’Reilly says ‘bets are wide open for night three and we can’t rule out Coldplay performing for a record fifth time’. This was before the band headlined Live at Worthy Farm, which might make them less likely to return to Pilton anytime soon.
  • Lady Gaga – Rumored: ‘We can’t rule out…the organizers flexing their muscles to get Lady Gaga or J Lo heading to Worthy Farm,’ O’Reilly said. Interesting!
  • Jennifer Lopez – Rumored
  • Oasis – rumour: Rumors of an Oasis reunion are never far away, but given the bad blood between them, it seems unlikely – even if the High Flying Birds were to play Glasto in 2020. Again, Noel has recently said he would do it for £100m – does anyone have that kind of money lying around?
  • Kendrick Lemar – rumour: Another act is set to happen in 2020, so it’s not a big leap to imagine him returning at the first available opportunity.
  • Elton John – rumour: Rumors continue to swirl that Elton John could get the legends spot next year which would be quite a move.
  • Diana Ross – rumour: Another who was supposed to come to Glasto in 2020, Diana Ross has had her entire 2021 UK tour pushed back to 2022 so it’s possible she could stop in Somerset as originally planned there two years.
