Creamfields 2021 Bank Holiday Weekend Road Closures and Detours

Road closures and speed restrictions will be in place in Warrington over the August bank holiday weekend as the Creamfields festival returns.

Creamfields will be held at Daresbury from August 26 (Thursday) to August 29 (Sunday) 2021.

A temporary traffic order will be in place from Thursday August 26, 2021 for five days in order for the festival construction work to take place.

HISTORY: The Rugby World Cup which was to take place in Warrington is postponed to 2022

There will also be temporary detour signs at and near the site indicating alternative routes during the festival.

The following road closures and restrictions will be in place from August 26-29, 2021 during Creamfields Festival:

Temporary 20mph speed limit restriction

· A56 Chester Road – from the borough boundary with Halton to its junctions with Old Chester Road / Runcorn Road

Temporary 30mph speed limit restriction

· Daresbury Lane – from its junction with Warrington Road to the borough boundary with Halton

Temporary driving ban

· Daresbury Lane – from its junction with Warrington Road to the borough boundary with Halton

· Hobb Lane – from its junction with the A56 Chester Road to the borough boundary with Halton

· Holly Hedge Lane – from its junction with the A56 Chester Road to its junction with Runcorn Road

· Old Chester Road – from its northern junction with the A56 Chester Road to its junction with Walton Lea Road

· Park Lane – from its junction with the A56 Chester Road to its junction with Warrington Road

· Underbridge Lane – full length

Temporary U-turn ban

· Chester Road – to prohibit all vehicles traveling in both directions on Chester Road, between the borough boundary with Halton and its junctions with Old Chester Road / Runcorn Road, from turning around to continue in the opposite direction

Temporary release order

· Daresbury Lane – from its junction with Warrington Road to the borough boundary with Halton

· Hatton Lane – full length

· Hobb Lane – from its junction with the A56 Chester Road to the borough boundary with Halton

· Hatton Footpath No 12 will be closed from its junction with Hatton Lane to its junction with Gosling Close

Warrington Council is asking residents to familiarize themselves with road closures for the bank holiday weekend.

They also advise that traffic may be slower as the festival settles in the coming weeks.

Billed as “the party of the summer”, this year’s award-winning festival features music from some of the world’s biggest DJs and dance music artists, including Afrojack, Basement Jaxx DJ set, David Guetta, Jonas Blue, Scooter , Darren Styles and many more. .
