Elton John rumored for Glastonbury Festival 2022 lineup in final farewell

Rumors abound that Elton John will headline the 2022 Glastonbury Festival as the superstar unveils his touring schedule for next year.

Earlier this week, the icon overhauled her Farewell Yellow Brick Road marathon world tour, which kicked off in September 2018 before being postponed by the coronavirus pandemic.

The Rocketman will travel to Ashton Gate Stadium in Bristol on June 22, 2022, before taking a seven-day break and then traveling to Swansea on June 29.

But there is a gap in his tour schedule which coincides with the 2022 Glastonbury Festival, which is due to take place between June 22 and June 26.

The Candle in the Wing singer has never competed in the world-famous Somerset event, and this could be his last chance to make it to the Pyramid Stage.

On Twitter, music fan Richard Whitehouse wrote: “Must be a Glastonbury-shaped hole in the UK tour dates, right?”

While Twitter user NH100 wrote: ‘This one week gap in UK dates has me wondering if Elton will stop by Glastonbury next year?

Matt Johnson thinks there might be some money to be won, tweeting to SkyBet asking for odds for a slot game.

Glastonbury would be a fitting swansong for Elton John’s storied career

Elton John has said he wants to stop filming soon so he can spend more time with his husband David Furnish and their two sons, Zachary and Elijah.

Announcing the final dates, Sir Elton, 74, said: “The shows I am announcing today will be my final tour dates in North America and Europe.

“I’m going to come out in the widest possible way, giving my best, with the most spectacular production I’ve ever had, playing in places that have meant so much to me throughout my life. career.

“Whether it’s next summer in Frankfurt or at the legendary Dodger Stadium for the Grand Finals in the United States, I can’t wait to see you all on the road one last time.

“It’s been an incredible tour so far, full of the most amazing highs, and I look forward to making more wonderful memories with you at these final shows.

Elton John has sold around 350 million records over a distinguished ten-year career, with hits such as Tiny Dancer, Rocket Man, Your Song and I’m Still Standing.

No acts have been officially confirmed by the Glastonbury Festival for the 2022 event.
