Five days of road closures and road restrictions for Creamfields

There will be five days of road closures and motorway restrictions affecting parts of Warrington for the Creamfields music festival in Daresbury over the August bank holiday weekend.

Warrington Borough Council has given notice of its intention to make an order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect will be to introduce the following:-

20 mph speed limit restriction:
A56 Chester Road from the borough boundary with Halton to its junctions with Old Chester Road / Runcorn Road.

30 mph speed limit restriction:
Daresbury Lane from its junction with Warrington Road to the borough boundary with Halton.

Driving ban:
Full lengths or route: Hatton Lane; Lane under the bridge; Warrington road.
Daresbury Lane from its junction with Warrington Road to the borough boundary with Halton; Hobb Lane from its junction with the A56 Chester Road to the borough boundary with Halton; Holly Hedge Lane from its junction with the A56 Chester Road to its junction with Runcorn Road; Old Chester Road from its northern junction with the A56 Chester Road to its junction with Walton Lea Road; Park Lane from its junction with the A56 Chester Road to its junction with Warrington Road.

U-turns prohibited:
Chester Road – To prohibit all vehicles traveling in both directions on Chester Road between the borough boundary with Halton to its junctions with Old Chester Road / Runcorn Road from turning around in order to proceed in the opposite direction , depending on the case.

Clear path:
Entire lengths of road: Hatton Lane; Holly Hedge Lane; Pillmoss Lane; Lane under the bridge; Warrington Road
Daresbury Lane from its junction with Warrington Road to the borough boundary with Halton; Hobb Lane from its junction with the A56 Chester Road to the borough boundary with Halton; Park Lane from its junction with the A56 Chester Road to its junction with Warrington Road; Runcorn Road from its junction with the A56 Chester Road to its junction with Hobb Lane.

Trail closure:
Hatton Footpath No.12 from its junction with Hatton Lane to its junction with Gosling Close.

The Order will be effective from Thursday August 25, 2022 for a period of 5 days, as it is signed on site. Access will be under the control of the event organizer for the duration of the works. Temporary detour signs will be erected at the site detailing the associated alternate routes for the duration of the work. The temporary restrictions are necessary to facilitate the Creamfields Music Festival.
