Glastonbury Festival 2022 | Line-up, tickets and latest news

The Glastonbury Festival is set to make a triumphant return in 2022 after being canceled two years in a row.

The UK festival was scrapped in 2020 and 2021 thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, but the massive music event is continuing this year.

And now Paul McCartney, Kenrick Lamar, Sam Fender, Olivia Rodrigo, Foals and Wolf Alice have been announced among the artists performing at this summer’s festival.

A total of 89 names have been added to the exciting lineup so far, alongside previously announced headliner Billie Eilish.

McCartney will perform on the famous Pyramid Stage on Saturday June 25, exactly one week after turning 80.

The Beatles icon was previously scheduled to headline the 2020 event before it was canceled due to COVID-19.

“When he finally confirmed, we were beyond [excited]”, organizer Emily Eavis told the BBC. “For us to have Paul McCartney is obviously a dream, a huge moment in our history. It means the world will bring Paul McCartney to Glastonbury.”

McCartney is set to become the festival’s oldest headliner, while Friday night headliner Eilish will be the festival’s youngest solo headliner.

Pulitzer Prize-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar will close the festival on Sunday evening.

The music festival shared the official lineup on Twitter on Friday, March 4.

The full lineup is expected to be announced in May 2022.

Speaking about the 2022 festival earlier this year, founder Michael Eavis said: “After 51 years, the enthusiasm of people to really want to come is still there. Which gives me great comfort.”
