Taylor Swift has reportedly turned down an appearance at the 2022 Glastonbury Festival. The star was originally confirmed to headline the Worthy Farm extravaganza in 2020 but that and the 2021 festival fell victim to Covid.
Much of the original lineup that was confirmed two years ago is set to return to Glastonbury this year, but according to reports in The Sun Swift he will not be part of it. She reportedly “politely declined” the chance to perform on the Pyramid Stage this year, but this performance at Worthy Farm is still “on her to-do list”.
According to The Sun, an insider said: “Taylor politely declined when approached because the timing just isn’t right at the moment. Of course she would absolutely love to be in the headlines at some point. C is still on her to-do list but not her priority right now.

“She has old albums that she is still working on re-recording and finishing them is her priority.”
Since the canceled 2020 appearance, the 32-year-old has moved on, releasing four hit albums, including ‘Folklore’, ‘Evermore’ and a series of re-recordings. These new recordings of old songs, which the star is making following a dispute with his label over ownership, are believed to be the reason for Swift’s alleged decision to miss the world-famous festival.
The singer said in 2020: “I wanted to play places I hadn’t played so much, do things I hadn’t done – like Glastonbury. I haven’t done any festivals, really, since the beginning of my career.
“They’re fun and bring people together in a really cool way. It’s so sad. But I know it’s the right decision.
However, despite Swift’s reported absence, it is understood that Kendrick Lamar will still occupy his headlining spot for this year’s festival, having been another set to take to the Pyramid stage in 2020. Billie Eilish has been confirmed as the Friday night headliner, with Little Simz the other name confirmed so far for this year’s festival.
Rumors have started to gather pace around other artists who could come to Glastonbury in 2022, with reports having already suggested Noel Gallagher could be in line for an appearance. The former Oasis star has been touted as a potential under-headliner on the main stage in 2022.
Last year Gallagher said he had no plans to perform live – unless Glastonbury called him. Reports now suggest he could appear in the Saturday June 25 lineup.
