Glastonbury Festival 2022 TV and radio schedule revealed by BBC

One of the most popular music events in the world, the Glastonbury Festival, makes its highly anticipated return in a few weeks. The BBC will broadcast a busy schedule from Wednesday June 26 to Sunday June 26.

The five-day festival takes place at Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset. Many music lovers already have their tickets and will camp at the farm so as not to miss a thing.

If you’re not going to this year’s event, there are still plenty of ways to follow all the top performers. Expect legendary performers such as Diana Ross performing in the Legends slot. Kendrick Lamar will make his highly anticipated debut, while headliners Billie Eilish, Paul McCartney and more will make this Glastonbury Festival one of the musical highlights of the year.

When and where to watch Glastonbury Festival 2022?

Glastonbury Festival live sets will be broadcast on BBC iPlayer and BBC Sounds from Wednesday 22 to Sunday 26 June. On radio and BBC Sounds, 6 Music will broadcast All Day Glastonbury from Wednesday 22 June.

Early bird music fans can tune in to watch Lauren Laverne live from the gates of Worthy Farm as she welcomes the first festival-goers on site during her breakfast show on Wednesday, June 22 from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. All Day Glastonbury continues on 6 Music throughout the weekend, in addition to extensive coverage on Radio 1, Radio 1Xtra and Radio 2, which sees Zoe Ball presenting her breakfast show from Worthy Farm on Friday June 24 .

BBC iPlayer’s dedicated Glastonbury Channel will launch on Thursday 23 June and will feature a four-day feed of live performances, preview programs and more.

Who will present at Glastonbury 2022?

The BBC has a host of presenters lined up and eager to go present at Glastonbury this year. Lorna Clarke, BBC Music Director, said: “Our expert team of presenters will guide audiences around Worthy Farm, while BBC iPlayer – with its dedicated Glastonbury channel – and BBC Sounds will allow people to watch and enjoy. ‘listen on demand, throughout the festival weekend and beyond.’

Get in the mood for Glastonbury Festival 2022

Music fans can get into the Glastonbury mood by watching documentaries airing in the run-up to the festival on Worthy Farm. BBC Two will broadcast Glastonbury: 50 Years & Counting, produced and directed for BBC Studios Music Productions by award-winning Francis Whately.

Artists who will be appearing on this program include Aswad, Chris Martin, Dua Lipa, Fatboy Slim, Florence Welch, Orbital, Noel Gallagher, The Levellers, Thom Yorke and Stormzy. BBC One and BBC iPlayer will show another documentary, Stormzy: Road to the Pyramid Stage, where the rapper looks back on his trip to Glastonbury, which led to his iconic performance in 2019.

A film in the works for three years, Francis Whately, producer/director of the acclaimed David Bowie Five Years trilogy, turns his attention to a kaleidoscopic portrait of Glastonbury for this social and musical history of (probably) the biggest music festival in the world. . The story is told through the testimony of its main curators, Michael and Emily Eavis and the musicians who have performed there, including Thom Yorke, Florence Welch, Dua Lipa, The Levellers, Aswad, Orbital, Fatboy Slim, Linda Lewis , Noel Gallagher, Ed O’Brien, Chris Martin and Stormzy.

If you thought Glastonbury Festival started on a Friday, you’d be wrong. The doors open on Wednesday morning and the Glastonbury weekend adventure begins. From their bird’s eye view of the festival at the park, Lauren and Jack take a look at what’s happening this weekend, investigate what the cows have been up to over the past three years and are joined by special guests and bespoke acoustic performance. Also joining the BBC Two gang is Glastonbury debutant Remi Burgz of BBC 1Xtra, who will explore every corner of the Festival.

Glastonbury Festival in ultra high definition is a first for the BBC

For the first time, the BBC will show sets from the Pyramid Stage in ultra high definition (UHD). The Pyramid Stage sets will be streamed live in UHD on BBC iPlayer from Friday 24th to Sunday 26th June.
