International lineup: UK debuts of Creamfields South and Outlook, EDM bigs across Europe
UK Outlook Festival debut
Outlook, known for its bass music gatherings around the world, will host its first UK edition, from June 30 to July 3, 2022, at the new festival site of Cholmondeley Castle in Cheshire, England.
“Entrants can expect all the usual Outlook Festival antics,” promoters say, including “the highest caliber of teams, collectives, artists, MCs, singers, rappers, labels and more over four days and four nights, all backed by top quality production and sound teams.”
Mala, JHus, Goldie, D Double E, DJ Storm, Channel One Soundsystem, David Rodigan and collaborations with Deep Medi, Metalheadz, Hessle Audio, Kiwi Records and 24hr Garage Girl have been confirmed for the UK debut.
Outlook Festival co-founder Joe Barnett commented: “Over the past 14 years, Outlook Festival has been an incredible party, but it’s this community of people who love this music and this culture that has made it. supported. Once a year, DJs, MCs, bands, producers, record label owners, promoters and all their followers got together and called Outlook home for a weekend. We’ve seen countless dubplates created, new partnerships forged, tracks produced and friendships made, and to have the ability to bring this together again on British soil is amazing.”
Meanwhile, Outlook Origins will take place in Coratia, where the festival was first launched, at Garden in Tisno, from July 28 to August 28. 2.
New Creamfields South announce lineup
Creamfields South, which will premiere next year in Chelmsford, England on June 3-4, has announced its names: Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Becky Hill, Camelphat, Fatboy Slim, Carl Cox, deadmau5, Charlotte de Witte, Amélie Lens and Jamie Jones.
The final bill will feature over 150 acts, which will take place over seven stages, including a colossal Steel Yard superstructure with a capacity of 15,000.
2022 also marks a significant anniversary for the promotion of the Creamfields company, which launched the original festival of the same name in the north of England 25 years ago.
Rage Against The Machine, Run The Jewels Join Rock En Seine
The Parisian Rock en Seine festival returns next summer for its 18th, from August 25-28, with a stellar lineup that just got bigger.
Rage Against The Machine and Run The Jewels have joined a bill that already includes the previously announced Arctic Monkeys, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Tame Impala, Kraftwerk, Jamie xx, Stromae, IDLES, James Blake, Parcels, Yungblud, Beabadoobee and many more Suite.
Rage Against The Machine has not performed in France since 2008. That year they also performed at Rock en Seine, according to Pollstar’s box office history.
Festival General Manager Matthieu Ducos said: “Once again, Rage Against The Machine have chosen Rock en Seine for their exclusive national show next summer. It’s been 14 years since their last performance at the festival in 2008 and so the anticipation for them to return to La France couldn’t be greater. We’re so excited to have this legendary band now joining the already incredible lineup of Rock en Seine 2022.”
Armin Van Buuren, Don Diablo and Gigi D´Agostino at Electric Love 2022
Electric Love in Salzburg Lake District in Austria has compiled an impressive list of names for next year’s event, which is scheduled for July 7-9, 2022.
Armin Van Buuren, KYGO, Don Diablo, Fisher, Solardo and 1990s legend Gigi D´Agostino lead a lineup of 160 artists in total, who will occupy one of five stages representing different electronic genres as well as hip hop.
Timmy Trumpet, KYGO, Fisher, Brennan Heart, Aftershock, Dominique Jardin, Acraze, Alan Walker, Headhunterz, Primeshock, Sefa and more have also been confirmed.
Many ticket categories such as Caravan Camping or VIP Gold, Silver and Bronze sold out within hours of the announcement of the first phase of programming. The other ticket categories will be available at “Super Early Bird” rates until December 31.
In the event of cancellation linked to COVID, each ticket buyer will be able to exchange their ticket for the next edition or be reimbursed, excluding service costs.
His Primavera NOS
Grimes DJ set, Interpol, Jhay Cortez and Chico da Tina have joined the line-up of the Portuguese edition of Primavera Sound, from June 9 to 11, 2022. They join headliners Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Tame Impala , Beck, Gorillaz, Interpol and more.
NOS Primavera Sound in Porto kicks off the brand’s festival season, which recently expanded to three editions in South America. Primavera Sound LA is also set to debut next year, alongside the Spanish original in Barcelona.
Cypress Hill, Meduza to Starfish in Coratia
Sea Star, which will take place for the fourth time in the small town of Umag, Croatia on May 27-28, has confirmed Cypress Hill and Meduza as headliners for 2022.
They join Amelie Lens, Umek, Farrago, Dubioza Kolektiv, Tijana T, Insolate and others, with more announcements to follow.
Sea Star is one of many festival brands managed by the team behind EXIT Festival in Serbia. It was launched at the picturesque Resort Stella Maris on the Croatian coast in 2017 and has a capacity of 20,000-25,000 visitors.
Parookaville remains optimistic
Parookaville has announced Armin van Buuren, Fisher, Scooter, Alle Farben, Purple Disco Machine and more for their 2022 bill, when the festival takes place at Weeze Airport, Germany from July 22-24.
The final lineup will include more than 300 acts, according to promoter Next Events, which remains optimistic about holding next year’s edition, despite the still uncertain situation in Germany.
Co-founder of Parookaille GmbH, Bernd Dicks, said: “This year,
particular has shown that the number of infections decreases considerably during the summer. Given the ever-increasing number of people vaccinated or cured, we and many other major festival organizers assume that in all likelihood the festivals next summer will be able to be held in their normal capacity. We are therefore booking new artists and we are also optimistic that together with Parookaille in 2022, we will also be able to celebrate our new festival ‘San Hejmo’ in August 2022.”
Plage Noire completes its program
Black Beach, which plans to return to Weissenhäuser Strand in Germany on May 6 and 7, has completed its lineup. Fields of the Nephilim, Subway to Sally, Lord of the Lost, Deine Lakeien and more will perform at the gothic-themed event, promoted by FKP Scorpio. The final line also includes Frozen Plasma, Aesthetic Perfection, Merciful Nuns and more.
