Reduced speed limits and road closures for Creamfields

REDUCED speed limits and road closures have been confirmed for this year’s Creamfields Festival.

The music festival runs from Thursday August 26 to Sunday August 29, after being canceled last year due to the pandemic.

Warrington Borough Council will introduce the following traffic restrictions on August 26 for five days:

• 20 mph speed limit restriction:

A56 Chester Road from the borough boundary with Halton to its junctions with Old Chester Road / Runcorn Road.

• 30 mph speed limit restriction:

Daresbury Lane from its junction with Warrington Road to the borough boundary with Halton.

• Driving ban:

Daresbury Lane from its junction with Warrington Road to the borough boundary with Halton; Hobb Lane from its junction with the A56 Chester Road to the borough boundary with Halton; Holly Hedge Lane from its junction with the A56 Chester Road to its junction with Runcorn Road; Old Chester Road from its northern junction with the A56 Chester Road to its junction with Walton Lea Road; Park Lane from its junction with the A56 Chester Road to its junction with Warrington Road; Underbridge Lane – Full length.

• Prohibition of U-turns:

Chester Road – Prohibit all vehicles traveling in either direction on Chester Road between the borough boundary with Halton to its junctions with Old Chester Road/Runcorn Road from making a U-turn in order to proceed in the opposite direction, as appropriate.

• Clear path:

Entire lengths of road: Hatton Lane; Holly Hedge Lane; Pillmoss Lane; Lane under the bridge; Warrington Road

Daresbury Lane from its junction with Warrington Road to the borough boundary with Halton; Hobb Lane from its junction with the A56 Chester Road to the borough boundary with Halton; Park Lane from its junction with the A56 Chester Road to its junction with Warrington Road; Runcorn Road from its junction with the A56 Chester Road to its junction with Hobb Lane.

• Trail closure:

Hatton Footpath No.12 from its junction with Hatton Lane to its junction with Gosling Close.

”Access will be under the control of the event organizer for the duration of the works.”

”Temporary detour signs will be erected at the site detailing the associated alternative routes for the duration of the works and the temporary restrictions are necessary to facilitate the Creamfields Music Festival.”
