The Spice Girls confirm Glastonbury Festival talks WITH Victoria Beckham
MEL C has confirmed the Spice Girls had secret talks to play Glastonbury with Victoria Beckham.
The Spice Girls star, 48, also known as Sporty Spice, performed his DJ set on William’s Green Stage at Worthy Farm at the Somerset Festival.
And Mel admitted she has a “good feeling” that Posh Spice Victoria will join Mel B, Geri Horner and Emma Bunton on the Pyramid Stage for the Sunday Legends spot next year.
“It’s the dream, the absolute dream, yeah, we would like to do it…
“You know what, the girls and I discussed it. You know, it’s the biggest stage in the world, we have the best festival in the world here,” she told BBC Breakfast.
When asked if she could get Victoria back, Mel teased, “I have a good feeling…”
If all of the 1990s girl band members agree, it will be the first time the five have performed together since 2012, when they sang a medley of their hits at the closing ceremony of the London Olympics .
Elsewhere, Mel is set to collaborate with indie pop band Blossoms on the Other Stage on Friday to form ‘Spicy Blossoms’.
Mel said: “It’s just an honor to be at Glastonbury, to play at Glastonbury, but also to be with these guys because as you can see they’re great guys, great band, so I am really happy to be here representing the Spice Girls with these amazing guys.
The Wannabe hitmaker also gushed about Billie Eilish being the youngest headliner aged 20 as she takes to the Pyramid stage.
Mel said: “The thing is, Billie just naturally, you know, I think she started her first single, you know, I think she wrote it when she was about 14 year?
“And you know, ever since she was a teenager, she’s been doing big gigs, you know, she’s got a lot of pressure on her shoulders.
“So, you know, even when she’s very young, she’s very experienced and she’s just going to blow everyone’s mind tonight.”
